About SSG Aaron Butler
SSG Aaron Butler was a proud Utahn, Green Beret, and American hero who gave his life in Afghanistan on August 16th, 2017. Known for his grit, loyalty, and strength, Aaron lived with purpose and pushed those around him to be better.
The Aaron Butler Memorial Foundation was created to honor his legacy - by supporting veterans and Gold Star families through community events, outreach and remembrance. Aaron believed in doing hard things for a greater purpose - and we carry that mission forward everyday.

Dan Nelson
US Army Special Forces Officer (Green Beret - Retired), Dan served as Aaron Butler's captain in SFODA 9121 in Africa and SFODA 9522 in Afghanistan.

Adam Butler
The younger brother of Aaron Butler, Adam grew up in the same patriotic family learning the importance of honor, sacrifice, and service.

A partner at his own CPA firm, Sam, joined ABMF to give back to the veteran community.

Thomas Daggett
As former officer in the US Marine Corps Reserve, Tom continues to serve his civilian and combat veteran community through multiple professional and volunteer positions.

Craig Hoyt
A highly accomplished veteran and engineer, Craig serves as the President to the Vietnam Veterans of America (Treasure Valley). He lives by the motto that "Never again will one generation of veterans abandon another."

Mike Kish
Serving 27 years in the United States Army, Mike retired in 2015 as the Command Sergeant Major. He continues to share his passion for public service and the veteran community.

Andrew Nakashima
Andrew spent 12 years in the US Marine Corps and continues to serve our local communities as an ISP Patrol Sergeant.

Jesse Van Patten
A former TACP veteran in the Idaho Air National Guard, Jesse served for eight years, including a deployment with 5th Group SFG ODA in Syria. He continues to serve his community as an EMT/Firefighter.
